My Story
Some work finds you because you needed it yourself first.
For years I worked in retail head office roles, leading teams and quietly believing in people before they believed in themselves. Then two things shifted me. I came out of a relationship that had taught me to doubt myself, and not long after, I was made redundant after my daughter was born. That stretch was hard. It was also the first time I had space to ask what I actually wanted to do with the rest of my working life.
The answer was this. To sit with people through the things that are hard to say out loud, and help them find their way back to themselves. So I retrained.
During my training I worked at Sutton Women's Centre, supporting women through anxiety, abuse, and relationships that had left them doubting themselves. It's where everything came together. The work I'd been drawn to my whole life, my own experience, and the women I most wanted to help, all in one place.
I'm a counsellor registered with the BACP, working online with adults across the UK.
